THIS IS OUR STORY
Meet Ethan, he was born on April 14, 2016. The best day of my life was when I had this beautiful boy. I could have never imagined that I could love somebody this much.
Ethan was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, July 29, 2020. I did notice some things quite early on. He wasn't meeting his milestones as the average child would. Sitting up, crawling, first word, first steps Etc... Even as he got older, he lacked eye contact, did not like to socialize with other children and very aggressively chewed on clothing.
Ethan was on a waiting list for over two years before we received the autism assessment. Even though I was certain that he had autism before he was diagnosed, hearing the words still gave me a lump in my throat. I guess once you hear the words it makes it real.
Since his diagnosis, he has come a long way with the help of different therapies. He started with Speech Therapy. In the beginning, he wasn't saying much but now he is talking up a storm and he loves to read books to me. He is extremely intelligent, and one of a kind.
Shortly after Ethan's diagnosis, I wanted to start a fundraising walk of my own, and Ethan's Voice was born.
A non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping make a difference for people and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I would not change my son for the world but I would change the world for him. A world with love, acceptance, patience, understanding and inclusion for all 💜.
I just want to give him the right tools so he can live a happy, successful independent life, and support him in doing whatever he wants in life.
Fundraising Goals
Every Bit Helps
Each year Ethan's Voice hosts a walk to raise money to support persons with autism and their families.
This year we are raising money for Autism Ontario Central West Region, Children, Youth and Family Programs.
These programs have been a savior for us and we would like to help in any way we can.
